On the road, the same national driving rules apply as elsewhere in the Republic of Cyprus. The official Cyprus tourism transportation guidance confirms driving is on the left, with speed limits generally set at 50 km/h in built-up areas, 80 km/h on other roads and 100 km/h on motorways, and a legal blood alcohol limit of 50 mg per 100 ml. Seatbelts are required in every seat, and using a handheld phone while driving is not permitted. If your Paphos trip includes a motorway stretch toward Limassol or a coastal detour, plan a realistic return buffer rather than timing the drop-off to the minute, since traffic, refuelling stops and parking at the return point all take longer than expected on a first visit.
